This project is an advertising campaign for conservationist group Oceana and their effort to ban the shark fin trade throughout the world. The visual aesthetic of the campaign is designed in the style of classic END screens from movies of the early 1900s. “Fin” (French for End) was commonly used in both American and French releases to signify the conclusion of a film and persists as an iconic cultural image. The campaign utilizes wordplay to convey the dramatic implications that the extinction of sharks could have on the terrestrial ecosystem.
