This project is a brand identity for Inkcarceration a relatively new festival based in Mansfield, Ohio, featuring tattoo artists, food trucks, and live performances from acclaimed hardcore, punk, and rock artists held in the abandoned Mansfield Reformatory. The branding combines both the aesthetic of tattoo and grunge culture with the rumors of spirits that haunt the prison to create a brand that encompasses every aspect of the festival. The primary imagery, disembodied hands serves both as a representative of reports of ghostly hands inhabiting the prison, as well as a visual indicator of the raised hands in a concert crowd.
